I started my career in community services at an education focused not-for-profit which gave me wonderful and diverse experience in assistive technology for learning disabilities, literacy support for kids with dyslexia, workshop facilitation, office management and business administration. I gravitated towards the administration and management work which kept me hidden away behind the scenes.

I was struggling in a big way with an addiction to seeking approval and crippling perfectionism, so hiding away from the spotlight felt safe. But to stay safe I had to sacrifice the things I deeply yearned for; connection, creativity, leadership, challenge, heart, to be pushed outside of my comfort zone and for my voice to be heard.

There were many stepping stones along my path to a courageous career change including unpacking my perfectionism, honest self-reflection and conversations with loved ones but the tipping point came with one conversation.

I decided to see a career coach and be honest about who I was and what I really wanted. It was this conversation that led me to get crystal clear on my offering, to start building a career strategy and to start the courageous journey of failing forward. In the weeks that followed Red Fox Coaching was born and now I get the privilege of guiding my clients and organisations through those transformative conversations.

Surrounded by dear friends and family, Em lives in the vibrant Redlands on the south side of Brisbane with her Westy-Poo Wooki. Outside of life and career coaching, Em is passionate about Queer cinema, pancakes and dusk skies in winter.
